Language Programs

Interested in improving your English language skills? You’ve come to the right place!

LINC (Language Instruction
for Newcomers to Canada)

At Newcomer Connections, we offer the Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program. This government-funded program can help you improve your English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills and learn about Canadian culture. LINC classes utilize the latest technological approaches that effectively facilitate language development.

We use the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) and Portfolio-Based Learning Assessments (PBLA) as standards to assess our clients’ language progress. Our classes range from CLB 1-8.

To be enrolled in LINC, clients must set up an appointment for their CLB Placement Test. Once their language results are out, the Language Program Advisor will assign clients to their appropriate English-level class. We know our clients are busy, if you cannot attend LINC classes in person, Monday to Friday, you may be eligible for Online LINC courses, depending on your placement results.

LINC classes are offered daily, Monday to Friday. Classes are offered 3 times a day:

Morning

9:00am – 12:00pm

Afternoon

1:00pm – 4:00pm

Evening

5:00pm – 8:00pm
