HealthY Mobility Program
The HealthY Mobility Program (HMP) is a 12-week program designed for anyone with limited mobility in their hips, knees, or ankles due to a chronic disease (e.g., arthritis) or debilitating injury.
- The HMP will take place at the YMCA Southwestern NB’s regional centre at 191 Churchill Blvd., Saint John, NB.
- The program will accept physician and other allied health care practitioners’ referrals. Self-referrals will also be accepted.
- Participants will be stratified into either Mobility I or Mobility II levels using the information gleaned from the intake assessment. Mobility I will be for those with the least functional mobility and Mobility II will be for those with a higher level of mobility.
- Participants will be assessed during the intake process using the Lower Extremity Functional Scale questionnaire.
- The HMP will run 4 times per year (winter, spring, summer, and fall) with 3-10 participants per class (3-10 in each stratification of Mobility I or II).
