By SWIS and Youth Team
The excitement of a new school year is just around the corner! As parents and students prepare for another academic adventure, back-to-school shopping becomes a crucial part of the process. To make your shopping experience smoother and more budget-friendly, we’ve put together some essential information and tips.
Key Points for Parents
- SWIS (Settlement Workers in School) Support: Our dedicated SWIS staff is here to assist you throughout the back-to-school journey. From school assignments to shopping assistance, we’re committed to supporting your family’s transition. Once ASD-S informs you which school your child will attend, you will be assigned a SWIS worker to support your transition to the school.Schools are assigned based on geographical area where you live whenever possible. Our SWIS team has divided schools by geographical location to help you with a more dedicated support and better availability.
- School Supply Lists: Remember to check your child’s school website for specific supply lists. Different school supply lists are required for Elementary, Middle and High Schools. Some schools offer pre-made supply packages for added convenience; they can be purchased during the first week of school at schools which offer this service.
- Back-to-School Shopping Day: Don’t miss our exclusive Back-to-School Shopping Day on August 23rd from 1pm to 4pm at both Walmart locations. Enjoy special deals at Walmart and get expert advice from our SWIS team. Our team will assist you in finding the necessary supplies (with interpretation if needed).
