Saint John, NB — The YMCA of Southwestern New Brunswick is excited to announce the kick-off of the ParticipACTION Community Challenge.

This exciting national initiative is back to inspire everyone to experience the physical, social, and mental health benefits of getting active together throughout the month of June.

The ParticipACTION Community Challenge aims to crown Canada’s Most Active Community, with a grand prize of $100,000 to support local physical activity and sport initiatives. This is a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, get moving, and showcase our commitment to a healthy, active lifestyle.

At the YMCA of Southwestern New Brunswick, we’re aiming high! Our goal is to contribute a massive 170 hours of FREE community programming throughout the month of June – celebrating 170 years of making a positive impact.

We believe in fostering a healthy lifestyle that supports the body, mind and spirit. In celebration of National Health and Fitness Day, will be kicking off the challenge on June 1st at the Glenn Carpenter Centre. From 2 p.m. – 5 p.m., join us for Kayaking, Canoeing, nature trails, various sports and more!

So, mark your calendars and get ready to:

Discover exciting activities: We’ll have something for all ages and interests!
Connect with your community: Have fun, get healthy together – Mind and Body, make new friends, and be a part of a place where everyone belongs.
Help our community win: Every minute of activity counts towards the national challenge.

How to get involved: Elevate your participation and boost our community’s score by signing up as an individual for the ParticipACTION Community Challenge. By registering, you’ll contribute directly to our mission to become Canada’s Most Active Community. Your efforts will be tracked through postal codes, so every move you make counts!

About the ParticipACTION Community Challenge presented by Novo Nordisk
The Community Challenge is a national physical activity and sport initiative that encourages everyone in Canada to get active throughout June in search of Canada’s Most Active Community. The challenge is open to all communities and individuals, ultimately recognizing Canada’s Most Active Community and awarding it with $100,000 to support local physical activity and sport initiatives. In addition to the national winner, there is also a prize for the most active community in each province and territory as well as weekly organization prizing to be awarded throughout June.
