School Support
We are here to provide you with the support you need in navigating the new education system and help you settle with a daily routine in school, communication, paperwork, transportation and more. Our Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) work alongside school administrators, teachers and ESL (English as a Second Language) mentors to provide support and guidance to your children and youth as they navigate the education system in Southwestern New Brunswick and facilitate their successful integration into their new schools.
Our services by the SWIS team are available for all newcomers of permanent resident and temporary resident backgrounds.
We provide a variety of support services to newcomer families and children including but not limited to:
- In-school support (providing support to newcomer youth in Anglophone schools)
- Recreation and extracurricular support
- Information and orientation sessions
- Summer camp registration support
- Back To School sessions
- Homework club
- Preparation for post-secondary education
- Teen Tech
- Culture Club in Schools
