Reopening Updates
As part of our reopening phases we are happy to announce the following changes will be effective immediately: the Fitness Studio will be available for usage between programs by members, spin bikes will be used for classes and two have been placed on the track for member usage; Aquatics equipment will be allowed for members to use (e.g., pool noodles, belts, and flutter boards); and much more.

Following the Government of New Brunswick’s announcement that the province will be proceding to the next level of the COVID-19 Recovery Plan’s Yellow Phase on June 4, we are thrilled to announce that we are among the many other organizations within the province that may reopen to our community — albeit with measures in place to protect our members.

The YMCA must delay its re-opening until at least Friday, June 5, 2020, which includes the resumption of Membership, Fitness, and Aquatics programs at the Saint John Regional Y on Churchill Boulevard. This delay follows the official announcement made by the Government of New Brunswick (GNB) on May 28 that the province’s transition to the yellow phase of the Recovery Plan has been postponed by one week in light of the new cases of COVID-19 in the Campbellton/Zone 5 Region.

The YMCA of Greater Saint John is thrilled to announce the start of its next phase of reopening, which is slated to begin on May 29, 2020 with the resumption of Membership, Fitness, and Aquatics programs at the Regional YMCA on Churchill Boulevard in Saint John. The Y’s decision to reopen its doors and gradually resume operations followed the Government of New Brunswick officially announcing the progression from the orange to the yellow phase of the provincial COVID-19 Recovery Plan on May 22.
