Help Government Assisted Refugees (GARs) to settle in southwestern New Brunswick by donating to our Newcomer Furniture Bank and helping them create a new home.

Every year, the YMCA of Southwestern New Brunswick’s Newcomer Connections Department welcomes and supports Government Assisted Refugees (GAR) to settle in the southwestern New Brunswick region through the Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP).

To support them in getting settled into their new lives, we support them in building their new homes in every possible way. Thereby, we have an ongoing need for furniture, kitchen supplies, curtains, and everything object required for a productive life. In addition to financial assistance and volunteering, you can donate these essentials to support our ongoing work.

Our Wishlist

Currently, we urgently need the following items to support our newcomer families.

Pots, pans
Flatware
Cutlery

We also appreciate these articles

Dining table and Chairs
Kitchenwares
Dinnerware
Microwave oven
Coffee maker and kettle
Toaster
Area rugs (clean)
End tables, coffee tables and dressers
Lamps
Mirrors
Dish soap and other cleaning supplies (broom, mop & bucket)
Clothes drying rack

Additionally, we are constantly in need of the following items

Couches, sofas or armchairs and furniture (excluding mattresses and box springs)
Cleaning supplies

Smoke-free and pet-free environment is preferred. We would appreciate it if you send a photo of the item you wish to donate.
