Youth/Teen Sports & Recreation Programs

This program focuses on developing the ABCs of movement: agility, balance, coordination, and speed. Young players will learn ball control skills, including receiving passes, dribbling, passing, kicking, and shooting on goal. Basic cooperation between players is introduced through engaging small-sided games and activities.

This program introduces basic principles of play, field awareness, and decision-making. Soccer-related movement and technical skills are taught in an enjoyable and challenging environment.
Each week, youth participants will engage in activities that expand their soccer skill set and understanding of the game’s basic principles. The program balances teaching technical, tactical, physical, and mental skills.
Teens will practice their soccer skills against their peers, focusing on a balanced development of technical, tactical, physical, and mental skills.

Join us in our Sisters of Charity room for a night of building LEGO sets and completing different challenges.

This basketball program helps youth develop sports-related skills and teamwork and teaches them how to follow instructions, cooperate, and lead. The curriculum includes mini-games, activities, and skill development, which will be delivered by staff and volunteers with strong basketball and coaching knowledge.

This Ultimate Frisbee Program is perfect for all experience levels, from beginner to expert. Players will learn the fundamental skills of the sport, get an understanding of the rules of the game and be challenged through a fun variety of games, drills and scrimmages.

This drop-in program is for youth members looking to enjoy a fun game of badminton. No experience is necessary. Participants must be enrolled in kindergarten or older to play.

This staffed, drop-in program will be planned to include age-appropriate, organized games, crafts, and activities for participating children. Come meet new friends in an inclusive, fun environment! Participants must be enrolled in kindergarten or older to join.

Hangout in the sisters of Charity room for game night. A variety of board and card games to play.

Members ages 13-17 are invited for a game of drop-in basketball at the Saint John Regional Y Gymnasium.

Our Sister of Charity room is open for Teens to drop-in and play board games, card games, and hang out!

Perfect for anyone 10+ looking to play recreational pickleball.

Adult Sports & Recreation Programs

Pickleball is a court sport best described as halfway between tennis and table tennis. Anyone 18+ at any skill level is welcome to play in this program. All equipment is provided.

Adult members are welcome to join for a game of volleyball!

Adult members are invited for weekly dodgeball games.

Come play table tennis recreationally or compete with other members in a fun inviting atmosphere. All basic equipment is provided and no experience is necessary.

Pickleball is a court sport best described as halfway between tennis and table tennis. This program is intended for players who are just starting pickleball. All equipment is provided.

Drop-in badminton for members 18+. All experience levels are welcome and equipment will be supplied!

For those who thrive on a more challenging and competitive Pickleball setting.

Family Sports & Recreation Programs

The gymnasium will be open for families to drop-in and play! Recreation equipment is available, please ask membership desk.

Members of all ages are invited to come play Table Tennis. All equipment will be supplied!

Early Years Recreation Programs

Take time to enjoy our Fitness Centre, Pool and Group Fitness Classes. Our Childminding Team will provide a safe and fun environment for your child to enjoy, while you work towards your personal fitness goals. This service is available for children aged 3 months to 5 years and is included in your YMCA membership.

Kindergym sessions are also a great way for young participants to build relationships while working in a group, listening, taking turns, and following instructions. YMCA Kindergym will help children develop general motor skills including jumping, rolling, balancing, and basic coordination.

Come and get together for a fun hour of exploring and different activities that help develop fine and gross motor skills, imaginations and socialization skills. Parent participation required. Ages 6 months to 5 years.
