COVID-19 Safety

As per the Government of New Brunswick guidelines, mask wearing in public locations is no longer required, effective on March 14.

The end of mask requirements is one of the last COVID-19 restrictions to be removed by the Government of New Brunswick. As we all get used to a post-COVID environment, we ask that you keep our CORE VALUES in mind:

  • Responsible
  • Respectful
  • Inclusive
  • Honest
  • Caring

As is always the case, anyone who wants to continue wearing a mask is welcome to do so. We encourage everyone to wear masks in public spaces, however, it is not mandatory. We ask for respect pf everyone’s choice to wear or not wear a mask or face shield.

Despite the end of government restrictions, COVID-19 is not going away anytime soon.  If you’re feeling unwell, please stay home. Once you are able to come back to the Y, please consider wearing a face mask until all your symptoms have gone away.

Things to remember while at the YMCA for all staff and our members/clients/visitors after March 14:

  • Masks are optional.
  • Physical distancing is still strongly encouraged to respect everyone’s needs.
  • Equipment and common surfaces must be sanitized before and after use.
  • Please wear your indoor shoes in the fitness centre or any program space

We thank everyone for their ongoing support and following guidelines to keep everyone safe. At the Y, our Clean Culture is above industry standards and our focus on health and safety will remain prominent after the March 14 provincial regulations end. This includes the continued encouragement of regular hand washing and sanitizing, with hand sanitizer readily available at locations throughout our facilities. As well, cleaning equipment before and after use will remain a requirement.
