A Part of the 2023 Welcoming Week Celebration

Have you been interested in trying the camping experience but are not sure how to start? This is your opportunity to have your family learn how to have a successful camping trip and get a taste of this Canadian experience. This Welcoming Week, obtain the knowledge and skills to feel confident planning your first camping adventure!

You get to learn how to camp on a real camping site and experience an authentic Canadian life. The Learn to Camp offers workshops and day activities for you and your family in New Brunswick.

Whether you’re new to New Brunswick or have been here for decades, it’s never too late to learn how to camp.

Stay in a tent

Learn to camp and enjoy the great outdoors the traditional way. It’s the right time for families and friends to discover the joys of camping in a safe atmosphere.

Price:
$135 per group/family. (including taxes)

Costs include: Bus fee, camping fee, all scheduled workshops and activities, breakfast on Sunday and snacks.

You will be provided with a tent and sleeping pads. Sleeping Bags are NOT provided, please ensure you have one for each member of your group.

Maximum 4 people. Following 4 persons, you will be charged $20 extra per person. If you have a group of more than 4 people in your group/family, contact Ella at e.wang@saintjohny.ca.

Stay in an oTENTik

Learn to camp and enjoy the great outdoors as a comfortable getaway in an oTENTik. The Parks Canada oTENTik is a spacious blend of a tent and rustic cabin equipped with cozy beds and furniture on a raised floor; great for campers who want a little extra comfort in the wild.

Price:
$155 per group/family of 4 people. (including taxes)

Costs include: Bus fee, camping fee, all scheduled workshops and activities, breakfast on Sunday and snacks.

The oTENTiks include comfortable mattresses. Make sure you bring extra blankets and pillows.

The oTENTiks have a maximum capacity of 6 people. Following 4 persons, you will be charged $20 extra per person. If you have more than 4 family members visiting, please contact Ella Wang at e.wang@saintjohny.ca.

What to Bring

  • Sleeping bags, blankets and pillows
  • Food, drinks and a water container (campground water is potable)
  • Bring your lunch and dinner food
  • Cooking gear, eating utensils, dishes and a cooler
  • Slippers or indoor shoes – the first rule of keeping a clean Ôasis is to remove outdoor footwear
  • Lantern or flashlight

Note: You can choose to drive there or take the bus with us from the Saint John Regional Y. We will meet at the Saint John Regional Y on Saturday at 9:30 AM.
