March Break Aquatics: Become a Lifeguard

Are you looking to work in aquatics in Saint John? Now’s your chance! The first step in becoming a lifeguard: our intensive Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross Certifications have arrived. The course runs from February 27 to March 6 with a final examination on March 7. Participants must bring a Bubble Buddy and attend all pool sessions.

What you Need

  • Participants must be 13 years (by the end of the course)
  • Goggles, swimsuit, and towel

What This Course Includes 

  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • 48 hours of lifeguard training 
  • National Lifeguard certification
  • Books and some equipment provided

Program Schedule

  • February 27 | 2.5 hours of an online class (time TBD)
  • February 28 | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • March 1 | 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • March 2 | 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • March 3 | 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • March 4 | 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • March 5 | 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • March 6 | 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • March 7 | 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Cost: YMCA Members $250 + HST | Non-Members $300 + HST | Re-Certification: $50

  • You may have a credit on your account if you registered for our last lifeguard training program but were unable to take it due to the COVID-19 recovery phase changes. Please inquire with our team when you register.
