COVID-19 Exposure at the Saint John Regional YMCA: January 4, 2021, 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Public Health has advised us that there was an exposure to a confirmed case of COVID-19 at the Saint John Regional Y on January 4, 2021, between 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM. Public Health is advising staff and patrons who scanned into the Regional Y through Membership on the specified time and date — regardless of their location within the building — to self-monitor for symptoms until midnight of January 19, 2021 (i.e. for 14 days).
Thanks to our card scanning system and online program registrations, Public Health has been contacting all members, staff, and volunteers who were in direct contact by phone.
COVID-19 Symptoms & Testing
It can take up to 14 days for someone to have symptoms after exposure to the virus that causes COVID-19. Our First Priority: Your Health & Safety
YMCA of Greater Saint John’s first priority is the health and safety of the children, families and staff who are part of our Y community. Since the beginning of this pandemic, the YMCA and the New Brunswick Department of Health have been in close contact, working together to ensure the safety of our participants and staff. Public Health has reviewed our COVID-19 protocols and practices and is satisfied with all that we are doing to keep our community safe.
We are grateful for the ongoing support and direction from local health agencies and our community. Together, we will continue to work to fight against the spread of COVID-19.
