Summer 2025 Day Camps

Keep your kids active and happy during the summer break while helping them grow and learn! YMCA Day Camps offer children, ages 5 to 12 (Must have already completed Kindergarten), fun-filled days of activities like swimming, arts and crafts, sports, and games. Watch their confidence grow as they make new friends, have fun, and develop lifelong skills. Summer day camps are available for 10 weeks from June 23 to August 29.

We’re not just your average day camp! Each of our sites has something unique to offer your child, making their summer exciting. With 40+ camps to choose from, there is something for everyone!

Our values help us distinguish right from wrong and provide a foundation for sound judgment and decision-making. Values are the basis of who we are, how we live, and how we treat others. Throughout the week, beads are awarded to individuals for demonstrating YMCA core values and success in specific areas. The values we instill are Belonging, Inclusive, Responsible, Caring and Honest. At YMCA Day Camps, value beads play an important role as a form of recognition.

We will have fun in all kinds of weather so please dress appropriately, rain or shine. To make sure you are ready for any adventure, be sure to bring these items every day:

  • A hat and sunscreen,
  • A swimsuit, towel, and a bag for wet items,
  • A refillable water bottle,
  • Running shoes, and
  • Lunch, drinks, and two snacks (no peanut/tree nut products, microwaves are not available).
    • Please note that peanut/tree nut products are not permitted and microwaves are not available to campers.
    • A hot lunch program is available at the Millidgeville Community Centre and Quispamsis Community Centre. Please contact our team for information, prices, and sign-up.

Outdoor activities may vary if the weather is not appropriate. Please label all clothing and belongings. Lost and found items will be kept for one week after the end of each camp session.

Please Note: YMCA is a scent-free faculty.

Health and safety are our top priorities. Please be sure to follow these guidelines to ensure the health and safety of your camper.

  • All medication must be provided in its original container with the required dosage on the container.
  • Please provide instructions for administering medications.
  • All medications must be given directly to a counsellor upon arrival and a medical form must be completed by a guardian.
  • All Y Day Camp programs run Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with the exception of the Weekly Multisport Camps at the Irving Oil Field House, which runs from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Children should be at camp no later than 9:00 AM as some programs take place off-site. All children will return to their centre no later than 4:00 PM.
  • All camps will be closed on both the Monday following Canada Day (July 1) and New Brunswick Day (August 5) holidays. Please note that prices for holiday weeks have been adjusted online.
  • All children must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian. If other arrangements are being made for pick-up, the child’s counsellor must be informed in advance.
  • A late fee of $20 for any period within the first 15 minutes of late pick-up and an extra $5 for each additional 5 minutes will be charged to parents. Payment is due at the time of pick-up.

All YMCA Camp staff are required to complete the following.

  • Standard First Aid and CPR Training
  • Child Protection Training
  • Emergency Procedures Training
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Social Development Background Check
  • YMCA Day Camp Training

Free, user-friendly registration is available online and will be open for registration on Tuesday, April 1. You’ll find links to this website inside each page of our Summer Day Camps pages as you’re browsing what we’re offering this season. You can also get a registration form at swnb.ymca.ca (search camps), or at any of the YMCA locations. Registration for all camps is on a weekly basis. Part-time registration requests will only be considered if spaces are still available at the beginning of the week. Part-time registration is not available for the Glenn Carpenter Centre.

Registration opens on April 1, 2025. Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once the registration has been completed and is received with payment, your child will be registered for camp. You will receive a confirmation email once the registration is complete. Please note that children must have completed kindergarten to attend YMCA camps.

Camps may be canceled if there are 10 or fewer participants. If this occurs, our team will contact you and provide you with an opportunity to be registered for another camp provided that there is the capacity to do so.

  • Online payments can be made by EFT, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.
  • Please note that cash payments must be made in full at the time of registration in order to reserve your spot. All post-dated cheques must be dated two weeks prior to the start of the camp week(s) selected. Any returned cheques will be subject to a $25 administrative fee.

Financial Assistance via the Strong Communities Campaign

No one should miss out on the YMCA camping experience. That’s why we offer financial assistance to help those whose circumstances would otherwise prevent them from enjoying summer camp.

How to Apply

  • Online | Complete the Strong Communities form at the time of registration.
  • Manually | Submit a Strong Communities form with your registration form.
  • Refunds may only be requested for the full week if your child is not attending.
  • All requests must be made at least one week prior to the start date of the camp week in order to receive the refund and and will be subject to the non-refundable deposit (administrative fee) of $15 per week. All requests must be made through the Association Registrar via e-mail: daycamp@saintjohny.ca.
  • All Day Camp receipts can be found on your online account.
