The Staff

Our counsellors and staff are the heart and soul of Camp Glenburn. Their energy and love for the great outdoors are woven into every single campfire, canoe trip, and cabin activity. More than 95% of our counsellors were campers themselves, and they understand the importance of providing a safe, positive, and empowering overnight camp experience.

The Glenburn schedule is broken into four core areas offering a balance of individual and group activities. These areas revolve around skill development, sense of community, and an appreciation for the outdoors.

We provide a safe and supportive environment for campers to take risks and grow, creating memories and developing skills to last a lifetime.

A Day in the Life of YMCA Leadership Camp

In the YMCA Camp Glenburn Leadership programs, everyday adventures will lead to long lasting memories. Each day you will grow and learn about leading, problem solving and teamwork through fun, interactive, outdoor based activities!

This adventure-based program teaches participants about both hard and soft skills. Each Leadership camper will get the opportunity to experience an epic, exciting 4 to 8 day offsite hiking or canoe-camping trip in beautiful locations around New Brunswick. From the Fundy Trail Parkway to the St. Croix river, on these trips, campers will learn survival skills, outdoor living skills, and values of nature-based education, as well as skills involving leadership, teamwork and ultimately self-growth!

These Leaders In Training will also have the opportunity to not only participate in camp wide events, but get a special look on what it means to lead at a YMCA camp. These include shadowing counsellors, helping to run camp wide activities, and getting a more in-depth look at how offsite Camping trips are organized and executed.
