YMCA of Southwestern New Brunswick – FAQ

This change is being made to better reflect the communities we currently serve, which is Sussex to Eastern Charlotte County. A big part of our 2023-2027 Strategic Plan is to further develop within these communities and serve more individuals! As we continue to grow, it is important that our name is representative of ALL the communities we operate in, outside of Saint John.

No. This name change will not impact the important work our teams are currently doing, or the current geographical areas we are serving.

St Stephen, Eastern Charlotte (St. George, St Andrews, Blacks Harbour), Grand Bay Westfield, Welsford, Greater Saint John, Rothesay, Quispamsis, St Martins, Sussex.

Yes. The majority of our administrative staff will continue to be based in Saint John at the Saint John Regional Y, at this time.

We are still the same YMCA but with a new name, therefore you should not impact daily interactions with participants or stakeholders.

Yes. We will redirect this URL to our new URL for at least 2 years. New website address will be swnb.ymca.ca

Yes. You can expect to see both names in our community for a short time as we work thru this transition to replace all of our signage to the YMCA Southwestern New Brunswick. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Yes. You will likely see YMCA SWNB or YMCA of Southwestern NB or YSWNB used in some instances.
